The Poetry of Ernest Patricio Lasche´ I

Ernest Patricio Lasche´ I was born in 1887. He died in 1922 as the result of problems during a tonsillectomy. The exact cause of death was controversial but the attending doctors were cleared of wrongdoing in the official coroner's inquest. Lasche´ was a lawyer, chess player, violinist, and writer, with many short stories and poems. At the time of his death, he lived in Ferguson, Missouri, a town outside of St. Louis.

Below, please find links to his poetry. The poetry has been scanned from the original pages in 2009. Thus, the pages are yellowed with age and the typography may not be perfect. Some of the poems will include dates of composition and author's handwritten notes.

Also, please note that we believe this to be his poetry because it was handed down to us, from the estate of Martha Mae Lasche´, his daughter, among the rest of his poems and short stories. However, please note that his poem, "My Right has Went,--My Bust-form, Too!" appears to be signed by L.T. Lasche´, on October 16, 1910. The identity of L.T. Lasche´ is unknown to the author of this web page, his grandson, Ernest P. Lasche´ III.
